Speedo drive removal

Post by Micron » Sat Nov 21, 2020 2:10 pm

Once I have taken the bolt out of the Speedo drive, will the sensor move side to side to help free it if it's persuaded a bit?

No it won't move side to side because it sat on a little stud, once it's above the stud then it will move side to side

Here is a picture of one,

Well I've never (touch wood) changed one.
But have seen one removed but that was with a big hammer, and guess what :?:

It snapped,

My suggestion would be remove the fixing both then loads and loads of wd40, then leave it, letting it soak in then with a very thin bladed screw driver, try and ease it up

Ask Aaron how he changed his, he may be able to put a view on it,
There again if it not working does it matter if you damage it while removing it
