Both the battery that Mojo recommends and the 075 that Euro and Halfords lists are both 175mm tall and the same depth. The tray looks factory standard too. Its really odd some of your cars are fine and others are not. I wonder what the cause is?

here is a pic`s this should help you understand
as you can see its only the height of the poles and not the body of the battery is the same height of the 075
I know i dont know everything about probe`s I`ve had probe`s for 24 years 9 months but I know that this battery fits the probe without any issue with the bonnet, the only thing it cost about £69 + delivery (that may be a problem to some owners)
PS cant show a pic of the 075 battery because I wont buy one because they dont fit without causing a issue with the bonnet
I`ve edited this post to add a pic of the 075 battery and as anybody can see the body of the battery is higher than my other pic

One easy way around it ( not OME, so MoJo won’t like it !).
Take the tray out by ‘over’ drill the rust fixing with a hole saw.
Remove the battery tray bracket that sites above the inside of the wing. Re- drill the holes in the bracket, so the bracket sits flush with the top of the wing. Obtain a flat plate, fix down
Job done!
Or take an angle grinder to the inside skin of the bonnet!
But it’s a lot easier just to get the right size battery
