Re: Lost drive
My money is on cpt's idea, I cannot see how a gentle drive to the shops has broken the 'box.

Re: Lost drive
I’ll have a look tomorrow
But my money is on the thrust bearing, gone through the clutch cover plate, at the fingers.
Won’t know till I take the gearbox off next weekend.
You can start the car with it in gear, this leads me to think it’s the clutch pressure plate.

Sounds plausible! Its either that or the distributor. Because its almost always the dizzy on a Ford Probe.Kit wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 4:15 pmI’ll have a look tomorrow

Re: Lost drive
So, with a few days off, going to see if I can get to the bottom of the problem.
Made a start on removing the gearbox, doing what I can under bonnet, starter motor etc
Gearbox off tomorrow, find out what’s wrong
Pop over to CPT , Saturday to collect the spare clutch
Sunday, to put it all back together

Re: Lost drive
We are all waiting to hear the answer to this one.
It just seems so odd for it to just happen , without any early warning signs.
