I think you've sorted it. Code 33 is the passenger air bag and the circuit is very simple, just the airbab with its shorting bar and the joint connector you pulled. Connector is most likely as its know to be a common fault.

DM is Diagnostic Monitor (or module to us) and for 33 its looking for a resistance of 0.9 to 1.1 ohms across pins 9 and 11 when the ignition is turned to ON. Above 4 ohms and you get 33 flashing. I'd check the connector first as per Donner's post.
