The front brake pads have metal tabs attached one long one shorter.
Which way round do these go ie short one at bottom on the outer and long one at the bottom on the inner.
Also what do these tabs do.

The only thing the the tabs , I can see. Are to help to handle/hold/position the pad.
I would put the pad with the long tab, at the back, & the short tab on the front pad.
Other manufacturers, ( the cheaper ones), don’t have tabs

Hi
I have found out that these tabs are accoustic wear indicators.
In that when the pads have worn down the end of the tab comes into contact with the edge of the disc giving of a sort of screeching sound.

The tabs are no where near the edge of the disc,

I asked a company on eBay and they say that when the pads are low the tabs emit a sound.
I assume one is longer to clear the backplate.
