Any of the techys help me out here... every now and again my oil pressure needle will drop to zero on idle, it'll go back to normal when there's revs... any ideas?... thanx in advance

what year is your car, because early cars have what we would call proper oil pressure switches and read actual oil pressure, later ones don't.
as for why, it might be a faulty oil pressure switch, have you checked the oil level?

If it's the early type then it could be the sender unit - they go faulty after a bit and they aren't cheap to replace.

It's a late 16v... I've just literally done a full service on it so I'll see how it goes

Mine hasn't worked for a long time now so this is a learning post for me. Mine just stays rock bottom all the time .

I’d say it is probably the sensor that is failing.

Check the wire is still connected to sender
