Air bag 5 2 code
Air bag 5 2 code
Air bag 5 2 code,Hi folks new to the forum we have a 1995 16 v which me and my son have bought to have a play around with as we love older cars,It has air bag 5 and 2 light,Have tried various things,I.E,Disconnect battery press brake pedal,Done the wire trick in the diagnostic box ...ground to FAB...got five beeps but not cleared the code.
Would we correct in thinking it's the SRS unit under the steering wheel that needs replacing or is there any others to try?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Air bag 5 2 code
It is pointing to the blue SRS module that is up under the dash on the drivers side.
The trick now is finding a replacement

Re: Air bag 5 2 code
I'm guessing it'll be the little blue box/abs module under the dash near the accelerator pedal , pig to get at and a rocking horse ... spare to find
Re: Air bag 5 2 code
Thanks for the quick reply guys,Yes that's what we both thought,so are there SRS boxes probe specific or could I take one from another Mazda or ford that would do the job,Yes pig to get at think will take drivers seat out if need be?

Re: Air bag 5 2 code
I don't believe that another Ford one will fit, I would say that a MX6 would, but I'm not 100% on that. As for another Mazda, I think the closed would be a mx5????

Yes drivers seat out , lay on back with pedals in your neck, 3 screws i recall, top one is a pig, but it doesn't need to fully unscrew , the module hooks on to the screw, again iirc .
