Engine coming out on the Lazer

Post by mojo98 » Thu Sep 17, 2020 6:59 pm

Bit of information would help, plan was to drop the gearbox out and change the clutch, but I have noticed a few issues, bad oil leak from engine, but may not be from rear cam case? Plus looks like a, issue with the power Sheering belt, it's seems to be cutting into the cambelt cover?
Radiator may have a leak?
So decided to remove the engine,
1. Is it easy the lift the engine with the gearbox, and split when out and change the clutch, or split while engine still in??
2. Power steering, can I just break the joint on the pump, and move the pipework before lifting engine.??
Up to now radiator is out,
Air con comp detached from the engine
Wiring disconnected,
Drivers side drive shaft out, passenger side striped but not removed yet
Exhaust disconect
Gear change disconnected
Still to removed the bonnet
Any info would be helpful, came remember everything, (it's a age thing) 😊

I pulled engine and gearbox Intact

Undid the banjo join on the power steering, and I'm sure I had to unclip further down too if I remember correctly

Split the engine/gear box, out of the car, you can get a ‘round’ it. ;)
The way I removed engines is to split the Driveshaft at the inner CV joints, this way you don’t lose any gear box oil
