Radiator and oil

Post by KEG » Tue May 19, 2020 11:13 am

About to purchase a second hand radiator and it has oil on it on the outside. Seller has sent photos of the coolant and it looks ok.
No oil in the radiator itself. Would there be any issues with oil on the radiator on the outside?

No, just rinse it off, (spray it with a degeaser) then rinse it off.

24v rad or 16v rad,
Plus depends on what your paying for a secondhand rad,, you can pick up a new 16 v for about £77 and 24v rad for about £106

24v rad. It was fairly cheap and part of a deal with other parts.

The oil was possibly from the power steering oil cooler pipe. It is made of steel and corrodes, right in front of the radiator.
