Single wiper mod

Post by Scooby » Thu Apr 23, 2020 9:55 pm

Evening all.

My Diamond White project car has a single wiper mod fitted and I'm looking to return it to a standard set-up.
Does anyone have the single wiper mod instructions so I can reverse engineer it into removal instructions?

I have a complete wiper set-up on my breaker so I've got all the parts, just want to make sure I don't miss anything. :D

I'll be interested in the single wiper once it's removed!

Have you got any pictures of it?

Nothing close-up I'm afraid other than this one with it in the background. I'll take some today if I get chance.

The wiper blade is trashed, but the rest of it seems OK.

If I remember Kev you had to cut the arm on the motor part and weld 10mm in to it
to mod it

It's not as hard as it sounds, all the mod is, is an extended arm off the actual motor, just replace that with an original one for dual or a modded one for single. What normally happens is someone cuts an arm in half and welds a bit in. the arm in question is under the scuttle panel.

Unless you want to be lazy and just change the wording on what was previously written

Single Wiper Mod looks cool, Kaz's Car has one but believe me they are useless in heavy rain.
Wipers end up on full speed and you still can't see a thing 😳😳
Not taken it off though, she just drives it in Dry weather 🤣🤣🤣

Cheers guys.

I wasn't sure if there was any wiring alterations as well. This one seems to do a sweep every time the ignition is turned on!
