Mazda MX6 rear brakes - insufficient pressure
The MX6 rear brakes are suffering from insufficient pressure when the pedal is pressed. The fronts are fine.
The car failed originally on the rear brakes including the handbrake. I changed the disks and pads, but it hadn't done many miles before the retest, which it did pass, but I have seen better, handbrake is fine.
One of the possible problems could be the flexible hoses, apparently they collapse, has anyone had this before, or any other ideas on how to improve things?

Could be the Brake Hoses, but I’d be looking at the Mechanics 1st.
Does the Piston wind in and out on the adjuster easily ?
Does the Calliper slide easily on it’s Pins ?
Are the Pads to tight on the Mountings ?
Is everything Greased up ?
Is the Handbrake Cable set to tight and using more movement than it should.
If your happy with all of that then look at how close the Pads are to the Disk.
With the Handbrake off they should just be Free and with 1 to 2 Clicks the Handbrake should hold.
I usually back the Handbrake Cable right off at the Lever, then adjust the pistons up (both sides) so they are just scraping.
Then put the Handbrake up 1 or 2 clicks and tighten the cable until the Brakes hold.
Then release the Handbrake to ensure you’ve not got any Drag and fine tune between the Piston Adjusters and the Handbrake Cable from there.
You should be able to get the Pads as close as possible ( which helps massively with Pedal Travel) and have a Handbrake that holds the Car on 1 to 2 Clicks.

the pistons move freely
the callipers were removed and pin greased
handbrake could be too tight, as I think I adjusted it on 2 clicks, might try your method. I do believe that it is backed off on the lever already
Pads are not dragging and the springs on the pads are doing their thing.
I might have to disconnect it all again when I get a chance and start again?

Paul (brookie66J) had a issue with the rear brakes last year, and he tried all different things, even changed the proportion valve, brake line, etc
it turned out to be the brake master cylinder,, changed that and all fine

was that Fronts and Rears, as mine is just the rears?
