My fuel gauge is stuck on full even if I switch the engine off. Has this happened to someone else ? What did they do about it ?
Anyone else have any ideas about this ?

Re: Fuel Gauge
The Gauge is supposed to stick at the Level of Fuel in the Tank when the Engine is off so that's normal.
Gauge reading full all the time could be a Faulty Gauge or it could be the sender unit (Float) in the Tank has stuck in the Full position.
First step for me would be to get a second hand set of Clocks and change the Fuel Gauge Section to see if that help.
If you get the same results with a different Gauge then that would point to the Sender Unit and i think i'm right in saying the Fuel Tank has to be dropped to get to it out, so start with the easy things first

Re: Fuel Gauge
Changing the sender unit in the tank , is a pain
The petrol tank has to be removed from the car, to get to the sender.
( Unless you want to cut a hole in the car floor, under the rear seat).

Re: Fuel Gauge
Hi Polly.
See you might have sorted some Clocks out.
If you need a Hand to fit them send me a PM, i'm only in Leicester so not far from you.
Not here this Weekend but you could pop over anytime after that.
