NO SPARK - any suggestions please?

Post by fanman » Tue Apr 01, 2025 8:26 am

Replaced dizzy although the original is thought to be good
Replaced HT leads
New rotor and dizzy cap
Underbonnet fuses checked (not relays though - not sure how to check  )
Moby bypass checked

Car was running fine, then next time i tried to fire her up a few splutters and the next time - nothing!

was the replacement dizzy, a new one?
If it was a new dizzy, why did you replace the rotor and cap?
I would be very surprised if all the HT leads were faulty?

Questions.
Does it turn over ok
Have toy checked the CPS plug (grey plug near the dip stick), pull it apart, give the contacts a clean and try again. failing that, consider a replacement CPS, but my money is on the grey CPS plug

Sorry - misleading post of mine! New rotor and cap were on new dizzy!
No CPS as its a 16v
Turns over fine
Think I have now traced the fault to a duff PCM relay so posting a 'wanted' ad for one.
Thanks for your help , much appreciated :D

There is one next to it which is the same shape/size but it is a different colour so presumably there is a difference? I would need to remove it to see if the pins are the same too.
