Oil stop leak products any good?

Post by KEG » Sun May 14, 2023 1:58 pm

Anyone used these products and do they work, short time or long time? Two products come to mind which are Blue Devil and Wynns. Do they actually stop oil leaks or improve them?

Rocket cover gasket. Possibly oil sump as well.

Remove your splash guards, ( if you still have them in one piece :o).
Clean off all surplus oil from on , under & around the engine.
Check to see if there‘s oil in the spark plug wells , if yes clean out.
Check the the oil topped up.
Run engine till warm
Place paper/cardboard under engine, leave over night.
Close inspection should show you where the oil coming from.
The sump, likely to be the sump plug, so re- new the copper washer. If there’s dampness on the surface of the sump, it might have got thin & porous & oils leaking through the metal. So change the sump, no gasket here just sealant.
Rocker Covers, leak take the covers off , new gaskets & sealant.
Dizzy shaft, the ‘O’ replacement is also an Easy fix
