Locks, ignition barrels and immobilisers....
The Probe I've acquired has a key for the doors and another key for the ignition barrel (had a replacement at some point). The boot lock appears to be ceased. Small I know but its driving me mad!!!! Anyone know if I'm likely to run into issues or difficulties with the process or the immobiliser? I've also noticed I have no keyfob with the car like the handbook suggests......

sounds to me that if you haven`t got a keyfob, the immobiliser has been bypassed,
as for the boot lock, use the boot release to access the boot, could save you from breaker a key in the lock, (push remove or give the boot lock a good dose of wd40

Check the mobby bypass (bosch) unit under the centre consul clock
as wires maybe loose,as for the boot lock as Mal said, but have a look at
your key does it look like it takes a battery as you may have a early/late
car any numbers on the dissy

Thanks both. There's a key fob available to order from the states which I think I'll order....apparently programing them is straightforward. Once I get it in the garage in the next 2-3 months for strip down I'll look into the immobiliser bypass.....that's come up a few times on here.

Its since been confined that mine being an earlier model didn't come with a fob so I'd be wasting money getting one. Though the miss match door locks and ignition barrel are driving me potty. Got to get a matching set

God knows then. I've no fob when I bought it. Its been owned and worked on by some past club members so its looking like the immobiliser has been bypassed
