Does anyone know the original ford manufacturer part number of the 24v middle exhaust? Turns out I had a 16v exhaust on there, as the bore is tiny in comparison to the cat, and two eBay exhaust dealers have asked my registration and said their part (FE466A) won't fit, even though it's listed for probe, Mazda 626 and mx6 2.5...
It would be easier to make my own

Mine is the original 1996 24V exhaust and it's definitely got a silencer in the centre section, so two silencers and Cat.

All sorted now!. The exhaust I bought was a little on the small side bore wise, so I tapered it out to meet the cat bore size, but not as small as the old one was, but when I put the two together and the reason it hung so low at the 90 degree was the ist section of the pipe at the flange end was welded on back to front, and the flange was at the wrong angle, kicking the pipe down! The new exhaust fits so much better.
BTW I was mistaken thinking my old exhaust didn't have a silencer
