Steamy Hoses...
Steamy Hoses...
Had an issue with my car that had been ongoing for about 6 weeks (just solved) with overheating...it was leaking coolant from the waterpump (allegedly).
The car would occasionally send plumes of steam from the coolant into the cabin and on the rare occasion would start to creep up in temperature. Got my water pump replaced and rad caps done as some had suggested on here. After this was done, one of the coolant hoses on the right side of the engine split (possible due to the fact water was circulating properly again).
Straight back to the garage I had it reattached with a new clamp. That failed almost immediately so had to get another pipe added in. Unfortunately the mechanic didnt know where to get the right hose as it has a bend in it so he replaced with with a same size straight hose and bent it around to where it was meant to go.
It doesn't look great and has a minor kink that isn't stopping water flow so it will do for now...
I'm looking to get all of the coolant lines replaced eventually, anyone had similar issues or can make any suggestions as I don't think i'll be able to get OEM coolant lines?
