Hi again, im looking for some help or guidance please.
my car is a 1994 L reg 2.5 24v which has been of the road 15 years (garaged) i bought it just over a month ago as a project car.
so where to start, ive received some great help and advice via the Facebook group and recently joined the forum.
initially after putting on another battery and trying to start it all i would get is a click, i replaced the battery in the key fob for the immobiliser, they joy it would crank, further investigations led to having no spark.
i followed advice from here and bypassed the immobiliser, still crank with no spark.
bit the bullet and bought a new distributor form ebay in germany at a cost of £76.
that arrived friday just gone and excitedly i fitted it, turned they key and yes! it fired up to life, or so i thought after 1 or 2 seconds it cut out.
this is a repeated cyle, starts runs for a second then dies.
ive bridged the terminals in the obd1 port between ground and fuel pump and it runs constantly and the relay clicks, but pump doesnt prime on the first turn of the key to ignition on, at all.
theres fresh fuel in it.
so im abit stumped where to check next, i also cracked the banjo bolts at the end of the fuel rails, they both weep fuel and once i bridge the obd1 terminals and the pump runs they spray fuel out alot!
it will run if continued short bursts of easy start are sprayed in the intake, but once i stop spraying it cuts out.
ive also disconnected and clean crankshaft position sensor, reconnected.
continuity checked all fuses in cabin and engine compartment.
where oh where do i look next please ?
id love to get this upto speed and use it for the summer.
many thanks in advance,
mike

Re: no start 2.5 24v 1994
As people have said , probably is the CPS but do REALLY check the plug /socket connections properly.
The CPS is a very rugged device and is hard to break.

Forgot to remind you NEVER try to start the engine with any spark plug disconnected.
