Does the black bit on your key just look plain, nothing that looks like a button or anything like that?
Also from what you said before, with it being a S1 dizzy, I would say that you are fine.

S1 key , no chip

Its early key with S1 Dissy so suspect the immobiliser has been bypassed (THEN)
good news though the keys are cheap to cut Ford blank or Mazda blank
