Heavy gear change

Post by Sunfly » Sun Jul 23, 2023 11:41 am

The flying machine has gradually been getting harder to get into gear. It seemed to get heavier over winter so worse for the lay up suggesting water contamination in the oil. Low gears are worst but all are affected. Obviously it’s a fault with the synchro but I’m suspecting the oils got a bit stodgy. It’s not been changed since 2015 since when it’s done 22k only. Anyone got any other thoughts. It’s quite in all gears by the way.

Definitely time for oil change, but also could be clutch not releasing properly.

The clutch breaks quite high with lots of travel left and it’s similarly only done 22k so I’ll put that down as a vote for the oil. Thanks Andy.
