Ford probe 2.0 16 v 1994
Just a couple of questions about speed sensors
Are the sensors the same on both manual and automatic transmission
Would one from a same year Mazda 626 fit a ford probe

Re: Transmission speed sensors
The manual and automatic sensors are not the same. I purchased a sensor listed for the Mazda 626 as it was not listed for the probe. I had done research for this to make sure it was the same. My probe is a 1997 V6. I checked the Mazda 626 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder 1994 models and they use the same sensor. You can buy one from ROCKAUTO.COM in the USA. I get all my probe spares from here. The sensor I bought was a Standard Motor Products SC162. It will cost about £112 with import duties and Fed Ex delivery. They take care of all the tax and shipping for you, nothing else to pay.
It all works perfectly but please check this is the correct sensor for you.
Best of luck.
Terry.

Thanks for your help. I not sure I can find out if this is ok for a 2.0 16v but you say this works ok on your car

Re: Transmission speed sensors
If you have the sensor removed from the gearbox you should be able to compare with the pictures of the new one to check its the same fitment. If you have to remove it from the gearbox the bolt will probably snap off as mine did. A mechanic friend of mine removed it for me I'm not sure how he did it. The new one was glued in as the bolt had sheared off. The sensor became loose after a short time but was glued back in and has been working fine ever since.
