I hadn’t realise that we had access rights to post in the Oracle - I’ve done it now so hopefully it will be useful for people in future.

Re: A battery that fits properly please!
Actually, I now realise that there’s already a post in the Oracle about batteries although it’s possibly worth updating it.
Thing is, if I search ‘battery’ in the Oracle, it returns no results. Neither my post or the original one. Am I doing something wrong or is the search not working?

Re: A battery that fits properly please!
Hi, I have Ford Probe V6 2.5 1995 and I used to have a Halfords HCB165 calcium maintenance free battery until a couple of years ago when they discontinued that particular one. Even a substitute one from Halfords didn't fit. After a long search, I did find one on eurocarparts-
Lion batteries calcium technology, 075 60AH EN 500 CCA
It works and fits like a charm. It also has a cat eye battery statues on the top which looks pretty cool.
Now the car purr's like a big kitten. Hehe
Hope this helps

Really, I think there will be a few people who would like to see the front of your car with the bonnet down

Yes It is a tight fit
The bonnet rests on the right corner of the battery but it happened with the Halfords battery too, I still have the battery and the marking is exactly the same
Its a big engine!
The bonnet lines up with the wing panels as you can see on the pictures
I have put electrical top on the inside of the bonnet where the battery rests to avoid friction.
