Remote locking - missing wire (!)
Remote locking - missing wire (!)
Hi,
I had to scrap a 95 Probe that had a CL module fitted. We removed it from that car with a view to fitting it in my "new" 96 Probe.
We have re-fitted the wires and all is working ... except we can't find the wire that we should be connecting the lock & unlock triggers.
The wiring seems to have changed. In the original car, the CL module was connected to the green/black wire in the loom just forward of the lower front corner of the driver's door. On the new car, there is no green/black wire there (but there is a green/white wire; we tried that but it doesn't work). We've looked at the wiring diagrams and there should be a green/black wire from the door to the relay under the passenger side B pillar, but we can't find it anywhere.
Can anyone suggest where we might find it - or have we got it all hopelessly wrong?
Thanks,
Peter

If I remember correctly the Grn/Wht (with silver banding) is to do with the RH indicator circuit.
No idea where the Gn/Bk would have gone.

Certainly the green/white isn't in the mix. It was earthed at the time so when we connected the activation wire, it blew a fuse!
The schematic seems to be for a different unit - this is a Cobra. It doesn't say where to connect it on a Probe

Re: Remote locking - missing wire (!)
Have you looked at the wiring diagram in the oracle, it might give you a couple of idea. But I do understand what you mean by the black/green wire.
I think that Jon G might have put remote locking on a later car?
Last time I did, I just put it in the drivers door.

Re: Remote locking - missing wire (!)
We've looked at the wiring diagrams for early and late cars and, so far as we can tell, the relevant wire is green/black on both.
Our problem is that we can't find it around the driver's footwell of the '96 car, which is where it was on the earlier (95) car.
Does anyone have an idea where it might be located?
