Re: Temic immobiliser help

I doubt very much that the broken key caused any 'short circuit'.
If you have a spark then the issue is either timing, or lack of fuel, or both !
Nothing else.
So concentrate on those two items, then come back to us.

Re: Need some serious help please

For sure the Bosch immobiliser played it's part in many a dizzy failure because of the size of the miniature relay contacts. However, I always envied those with the Temic system as I perceived it to be totally reliable. Now, I don't know. Remember ,I did have a dizzy failure that wasn't. One of thre...

Re: Need some serious help please

Running perfectly, then nothing. Classic distributor failure.
Had the same after filling with petrol at the garage. Fortunately had a good spare in the boot.
First step, one way or another, you must see those distributors running on another Probe.

Re: Radiator and oil

The oil was possibly from the power steering oil cooler pipe. It is made of steel and corrodes, right in front of the radiator.

Re: Oil pressure & tapping

Stop right there.
The hydraulic tensioner is a completely separate unit.
It is a glorified gas strut ,like the ones on your boot.
When the gas/seal leaks it stops working.

Re: Mysterious Code 13

I'm sure you know this Bob , the IAT is incorporated with the MAF unit. I know some are paranoid about the exhaust gas sensors but I ran M515 for at least 150,000miles without them working. The ECU inputs an 'average value' if nothing better arrives from them. It still did 38mpg,no problem and never...

Re: Oil pressure & tapping

Steady idle speed is only achieved after about 10 to 15 seconds, during that time the throttle is sitting down on the idle adjustment screw stop. Speed is being controlled by the ECU via all the sensors, one of which is the MAF, the throttle never moves. The 'beat' is so slow and regular ,not connec...

Re: Oil pressure & tapping

The 'beat' of that engine note does not compute with anything that 'turns' in the engine. Not camshaft revs, not belt length, nothing. Therefore, perhaps it is related to the MAF unit ? If there is any 'sticky' point where that plug has to move through just maybe that would cause the beat at low rev...
