Sounds like the short handbrake cable has snapped Paul
Take the black bit off the top of the Handbrake lever, & see if the adjuster bolt is loose

With that much handbrake travel it is almost certainly due to the brake pads nearly worn away .

Full brake service was carried out a few months ago

Re: Rear wheel bearing

I’ve never had any trouble, removing the rear hud nut. :)

Un-like , the front ones. :x
Have, been known to drill a slot in the nut, & split it with a cold chisel, as you can’t get a grinder in at the nut

Re: Rear wheel bearing

Straight forward, to do.
Just need a breaker bar & hub nut socket.
Make sure the car firmly held on axle stand.
Brake disc, pads, carrier & caliper have to come off.
Clean the ABS sensor, change the dust cover if it’s rotten

He fixed the original module with the new transistor. tested it and all was working apart from the 'blinking' light.
The red Blinking light, on the door entry/security system, iirc :?

You could solder the ‘jumper’ wire in place

I normally remove the old unit completely from the car

Re: Car starts, then stops after a few minutes

Tip Two :- Do your research, read through the process, get all the parts & consumables first.
Check you don’t need any special tools etc
