Re: Need a coolant cap

An overflow container ? Well, yes, but a little more sophisticated than that. Look closely at that dipstick in the overflow container and you will see a 'ladder of slots'. Ideally, the level of coolant should be about half way up the slots. If the cooling system is fault free, then exactly the same...

Re: Odd failures

Been looking at the Wiring Diagrams and have a Path for you to follow. 1) Check 60A Fuse in Battery Junction Box (IG KEY) 2) Power Feed to Ignition Switch should be Black / Blue Wire (Heavy Duty) Check at Connector under Dash and then again at Ignition Switch to ensure you have 12V supply to Switch ...

Re: V6 cam belt change

Is this a desperate must do now or could it wait a bit ? If you can get the Car to Leicester then if you bring the parts with you then I can do the belt change for you. Only thing is I'm not sure when. Got lots to do before fest and then my daughter gets married in July, but if you can wait till the...

Re: Lifting/Jacking Points

Hi Ash, I always use the positions front = Just behind the wheels, I use the Bolt position (rear Wishbone bolts) or the Front cross member hold engine/gear box (but its just off centre) Back = The middle of the rear cross member (you will see what looks like a square) right in the centre, then put ...

Re: Smoking

'Auto Choke' is set by the IAC Valve under the Throttle Body. It's spring loaded inside and relies on Wax Melting as the Engine Warms up to release it. Could be sticking a bit by the sounds of things. Fans coming on all the time sounds like the TPS needs to be reset slightly. This can only be done w...

Re: 24v Strange behaviour...

My first thoughts would be as the Battery was off for a couple of weeks the ECU will have lost its settings so the Car may be a bit strange until it learns everything again.
As for the different cranking speeds, this could be a sign that the Starter Motor has seen better days.

Re: Our Clutch has gone bad !

When you bleed brakes you open the nipple, push the Pedal to move the fluid and close whilst the pedal is still down. When you do the Clutch you press the pedal down first, then open then nipple to move the fluid then close the nipple. The Clutch pedal will stay on the floor and will need to be life...

Re: Our Clutch has gone bad !

I've had it where the Pedal goes to the floor but it's always been a bleeding issue.
Clutch is a pain to bleed as the Procedure is backwards to what your used to doing with the Brakes.

Re: headlight replacement

Turn on the Headlights so they pop up. Go to the Fuse box and remove the 20 Amp Retra Fuse. Turn off headlights and the lights will go out but will stay lifted. Remove the Screws that hold the shrouds and remove the shroud. Push the headlight back on its springs and move sideways to release the Head...
