Re: A battery that fits properly please!

Actually, I now realise that there’s already a post in the Oracle about batteries although it’s possibly worth updating it.

Thing is, if I search ‘battery’ in the Oracle, it returns no results. Neither my post or the original one. Am I doing something wrong or is the search not working?

Could this very useful information be placed in the oracle?
I hadn’t realise that we had access rights to post in the Oracle - I’ve done it now so hopefully it will be useful for people in future. :)

Re: A battery that fits properly please!

Thank you everyone for your help with this. I thought I’d come back to leave a conclusion for future reference as this appears to be getting more difficult as the years go by. The battery that appears to be easiest(!) to source is the Yuasa YBX3111. I can confirm that this fits properly. Cost to me ...

Re: A battery that fits properly please!

It’s worth mentioning though - nowhere else seems to have any stock which could be a nightmare for us all if it turns into a long-term issue.
It would be a shame if we all have to modify the tray to sit the battery lower in the car.

Re: A battery that fits properly please!

I phoned Groves for you. Thank you so much! I have spent a while trying to get in touch with them, and hadn’t realised you’d called them for me until I came back to report my progress. Thank you though - really appreciated. In the end, I managed to get the only one they have in stock and it’s cost ...

Re: A battery that fits properly please!

There was nothing showing they were out of stock so hopefully that supply issue has been resolved. I spoke too soon. Tanya have got in touch to say that this is out of stock long-term. They are suggesting the Yuasa 3111 as an alternative but they won’t be in stock either for another 3 weeks. Might ...

Groves batteries in Cheltenham.

Groves Batteries Ltd.
Park Mews Works, Lypiatt Street,
Cheltenham, GL50 2UB

He told me what battery was in the car BEFORE I lifted the bonnet.
Is that because the gap between the bonnet and wing was big enough to read the label?!

Re: A battery that fits properly please!

I remember using Tanya before, so I ordered through them. There was nothing showing they were out of stock so hopefully that supply issue has been resolved. To be fair, many industries are having intermittent supply issues with very roughly estimated delivery dates. Anything with parts originating i...

A battery that fits properly please!

Hi Guys, I’ve seen the post in the knowledge base but I can’t seem to find the batteries associated listed there. Is it still possible to buy a better that fits without pushing the bonnet up? If anyone has any recent experience of this, I’d appreciate some help please. For reference, I was assured t...

Re: VRIS-2 / TPS setting

Ah, ok - I’d forgotten the 10 & Ground thing! I think the adjustment at the club meet might have been a guestimate - I don’t remember feeler gauges being involved lol. I remember the paper test though - I also rigged up some LED’s that I could see through the windscreen to tell me what ‘should’ be h...
