No heat
Probe
2.0 16v
1995 blue
Non-AC model
Hi all,
Planing on getting the thing back on the road next year, one thing I’d really like this winter is the windscreen to receive air from the heater. I’ve got 1-4 working, hot and cold working, however no directional control. Heat/air only pushes to the footwells. I’ve changed the dash switches in hope for a quick fix but no different.
Any ideas?
I summarise that it’s a heater swap out, has anyone done this and if so.. any tips? Also if anyone has a spare blower before I get started that would be great
Cheers, Ryan

Re: No heat
If you believe that it's the blower unit, not the actual blower if you are getting different speeds, then you will probably need to remove the dash to get to it. It can be time consuming, because some of the fixings are in awkward places, there is one in the middle of the dash, near the windscreen, plus one either end on the sides.
If you are able I would remove the front seats to give you more room.
To be honest, it's a hard thing to explain, as I'm bound to miss something and you just find them all as you go.

Re: No heat
That sounds about right, I don’t hear any movement or activity from behind the dash when the directions are pressed. Have you got an image of the actulator? So I can source one? Also where in the dash is this found? Thanks

Re: No heat
I’m not 100% sure which one you would need, best thing is to try and look under your dash and see what you might need?

Re: No heat
Thank you!
I'm not sure which unit is at fault and I'm beyond bench testing so I am happy to buy any spares you have. Am I right there are 2 modules that affect this? this is what i've got>

Re: No heat
If it’s possible, you need to run the car and look under the dash to see is anything moves as you push the buttons.
You might find that only one is at fault.

Re: No heat
Just had a quick look and feel while the car was running. No movement or sound coming from either module on driver/passenger side. There’s a pair for sale online however it’s postage from Lithuania - is there anything else that could cause these to fail? Thanks
