rear caliper woes

Post by paul69money » Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:41 pm

hi all a bit of advice needed
i bought a blueprint l/h rear caliper from ebay,for a good price
put it on all good for 6 weeks, but then started to leak fluid from the piston seal
so i took it off and put my old one back on temporary,(its not good but doesn't leak)
i contacted the seller who replied but is saying it was ok when it was quality checked at the re manufacturers (i also included a photo of the leaking caliper)
and that some grit or a stone might have got in there to cause the leak,so he cannot refund or replace.
i only had it on for 6 weeks !
i said if i bought it from a car autopart store i would get a replacement or if i bought a tv or toaster and it stopped working after 6 weeks i would get a replacement or refund with no quibbles.
he also told me to contact bluprints.
what do you think i should do ?? ](*,)
thanks for replies

If you bought it from eBay then offer the seller the chance to come good one more time, then open a dispute with eBay. They are brilliant in protecting innocent buyers/sellers rights.
I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people......
I'm just saying let's remove the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out!

refused refund as seller terms and conditions "return within 30 days and item must not have been fitted for returns"
ive contacted ebay, and no guarantee, ive been screwed.
a brake caliper that lasts 6 weeks is perfectly acceptable it seems, not happy
