Vacuum actuators

Post by KDG24V » Mon Jul 09, 2018 4:18 pm

Hi to all, my first request for advice/help since recently joining the club.
Hoping for help to source vacuum actuators for my 24V both have broken feeds causing erratic idle & cutting out. Would also appreciate info on Garage specialising in Probes in the cheshire or surrounding areas? I am in Nantwich CW5, look forward to any advice, thank you. Kevin

I am not a tech so my first question is who has told you that is the problem as I have never heard of that before and there are far simpler causes of idle problem.
As someone who relies on garages 90 per cent of the time in conjunction with advice on here.Do your research on garages.
Google reviews, ask taxi drivers, ring them and ask loads of questions..do they have experience v6 probes,do they mind if you have to source parts.. a lot will say your car cannot be fixed if tying up space or ramps, how many ramps do they have,is there a large parking area, ask if they can fabricate parts if you cannot get,can you speak to mechanics direct.there are some great receptionists that know their stuff but you need them to say i will ask mechanic.with a probe you really need to he specific on what you want.
Ask what type of cars do they work on.do they have expererience hard to find parts.
If possible pop in and ask for quick consult to go with gut.
Tech guys will answer your mechanical question but that is advice on garages. Can say loads more but that is few ideas bas8c questions to ask.Ask if they can do something like replace rear rocker gasket as that I think is one some garages wont touch.tech guys may advise better questions to ask.
Good luck.
