24V Probe Idle Issue

Post by Incognito » Sun Jul 10, 2022 4:25 pm

Once again I have an idle/tickover issue. Starts up and ticks over fine, but as soon as you dip the clutch/arrive at a junction, the revs bounce so low, it stalls. Fires up straight away and ticks over correctly, again, until the clutch is dipped at the next time I pull up to a standstill. Any ideas please ?

I have a similar issue, especially when running AC some investigation suggests an AAC valve issue can do this on some cars, but I can’t find anything specific to Prone or MX6.

Off to dig into Mr Haynes finest

OK so mr Haynes suggests AAC is known as IAC on the Probe.

There appears plenty of discussion on it in the forums here.

And , check EVERYTHING in that throttle quadrant slot is working correctly.
That tiny ball-race MUST turn, not slide , as it moves up and down through the slot.
