Where is the Amplifier?
Hi all,
Looking to replace the tired Factory ford radio cassette in the car but need to find the location of the on board amp to by pass it. Can anyone shed some light on A) its location and B) if anyone knows of a bypass kit (ISO adaptor) supplier.
Thanks in advance

Re: Where is the Amplifier?
In the rear quarter panel, next to the rear seats, drivers side.
Remember, to get to it properly, you need to take out the boot panels first, or you risk breaking, clips and the panel,
Yes, ISO plugs are available

Re: Where is the Amplifier?
I bought a new head unit and the guy who fitted it bypassed the amp direct to the head unit and I fitted better front and rear speakers.
Its worked great for me and I like loud music.
I believe the factory amp is 12 w Cannot tell you anymore as the guy who did it knew his stuff. He also converted my heater resistor connection so I could fit a better type.

Re: Where is the Amplifier?
This is the type with the metal connector with the foam sleeve on it.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Autoleads-PC9- ... B0043GWBM2
Cheaper ones are on e-bay with different connectors but these only work with the base 16v with the original 2006 stereo.
