Hey guys, failed MOT due to battery being insecure. I have no idea what the clamp that is missing looks like. is it the sort of thing i could fabricate? If anyone has a picture that would really help. Car is still at the garage so cant even have a look at the battery tray.
Just to add to this, its failed on both front control arm ball joint rubbers being split. What's the best way to go about this? try to find new boots or try to replace the ball joints?

You can secure your battery with cable ties, this is perfectly acceptable to pass an MOT.

As Paul says, I do this every mot with mine and I have the proper clamp but cable ties are easier

LISTEN UP.
I have replied to this type of failure many , many times.
When you fit your new wishbones you MUST fit a thin stainless steel washer between the rubber boot and the split clamp.
Because , if you don't , the gap in the clamp snags on the rubber and every time you turn left or right it twists the boot which is not good.
It will split and in no time wreck the ball joint.

Whole new wishbones eh? Having looked up the ball joints looks like they're pressed in. I'll just go for whole new ones then!

You can press in new ball joints (ive done it) but if the Kurling inside is fuba the new joint will fail
asap as its all that holds it and will rotate, the nut just holds to the shock
