Hi Kit.
It has the control box next to the passenger front strut and previous owner who had it for 17 years said it worked years ago. I hope to get it fixed I'm getting lazy in my old age

First, does the speedometer work , all the time ?
Not a stupid question , the speedo' and cruise control work off the same item.

Stupid question too but are you allowing enough time for it to kick in.I am impatient and it takes me a few attempts to get mine working as I dont hold the buttons long enough.

Open bonnet, look to see if you have a cruise control unit fitted.
It will have a wire cable coming out of it going back to the accelerator pedal plus electrical plug for the servo unit.

Thanks for all your input. Cruise Control unit is definitely fitted. Previous owner said he changed the steering wheel years ago when it stopped working but didnt make any difference

It might be the unit itself - the good news is you just have to unscrew the top part of the silver module box and replace that with another one. I supplied one to another member on here and that got their cruise control working again. The 'lid' part has a printed circuit board set into some gel and is this instance that was the part that had failed.
