Re: Engine/gearbox
Changed my mind, after giving the gearbox a good clean, I decided to fit it back on the engine,
Not a easy job while working by yourself, but its now refitted to the engine,
Will do the rocker cover gaskets tomorrow

Re: Engine/gearbox
Both front and rear rocker cover gaskets changed this afternoon,
Spent a bit more on the rtv sealant (HIGH TEMP SEALANT) see if this works any better, then the normal sealant
Front one didn't really need doing (very slight leak on one corner) but might as well do it while the engine is out.

Re: Engine/gearbox
Was going to have a day off today, but decided to refit the IM,
Cam covers back on
Power steering belt back on, new alternator brackets/adjuster refitted, but belt left off because the a/c compressor still off will refit later,
Interdiate drive shaft refitted,
Engine finished, but still got loads of work to do, cleaning inside engine bay while the engine is out.
Tidy up the front end,
Got to change a/c condenser.
Rear passenger caliper to change.
Big job putting engine back but no rush, especially with going into lockdown on Thursday
Get up in the loft and get a radiator down, suspect mine had been leaking, front brace was wet when I start to remove the radiator earlier.

Re: Engine/gearbox
Another item to check really closely while everything is out.
The power steering 'oil cooler pipe' that runs across the front of the radiator for corrosion.
Replace with copper pipe would be nice.

Re: Engine/gearbox
Thanks for that info John. Mine looks OK, but will inspect it before I put it back on, plus I have 2 spare's in excellent condition

Re: Engine/gearbox
Started putting engine/gearbox back in today,
Put the engine/gearbox in position and dropped the car over the engine/gearbox, couple of engine mount installed, and will setup the engine support this afternoon then then lift the car, and try and get all the other engine mounts in (using Duncan's rear mount) if I don't get them in today will try tomorrow
But still way off getting in running, no rush not going anywhere
