Brakes

Post by 1vgotalandy » Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:14 pm

Hi, I’ve never attempted it and I appreciate that it’s a downgrade, but does anyone know what would be involved in grafting a 16v drum brake set up on to a 24v Probe? :P

IF you do that, I think you would find it near impossible to find any insurance company to insure you at 'normal rates'.
It is a major design change.

They don't, which is why a 16v has ABS the same as a 24v

Probably why I never knew! Can’t see what’s not there

My Haynes manual says they have got drums, haven’t ever looked at one in person though.

Take it from us, the U.K. 16v doesn't have drums, and why would you want to fit them?
