Windscreen

Post by Mada » Tue Jan 21, 2020 11:55 am

Has anyone had their windscreen replaced through the insurance?

Mine has just started to crack, and was wondering if anyone had issues getting glass before I try.

Cheers

Front screen should be fine - all the rest is hard to get.

There is a bloke on e-bay sells them for £200 if the insurance/fitter says they can't find one.

Whatever happens NEVER let them throw away an original outer surround , carefully take it off yourself if you can.

Had Autoglass do mine earlier last year.
Had to wait 6 weeks due to no stock and had made from scratch, but it did come with a brand new oem style surround too

Shame, will soon be out for its last run to get the LPG kit stripped...

I had mine done by Auto glass, with no worries I got him to brush up the rusty bits and paint before the glass went back in. I also had the new rubber seal fitted which looks ok obviously not original.
