Never mind, turns out the big end bearing has spun for some reason and the engine is officially knackered ๐Ÿ™.

Sorry to hear this.

Are you going to fix it?

How many miles had the engine done?

Well i have had my micrometer on the crankshaft and it seems the damage was just to the shells, so going to try those and see how it goes ๐Ÿคž

Make sure you haven't 'lost' any flakes of bearing material .
If you cannot account for every 'lost' piece it will be 'in the system ' having avoided the filter.
I needn't describe what will happen next.

Next , try to figure out why that bearing failed.
Make sure you turn that engine over by hand , NOT the starter motor , and really 'feel' if there is any sign of tightness or obstruction when that
cylinder passes over TDC.
Good luck.

I have had a thorough check and nothing found yet. Me and few other mechanics think its oil starvation to that bearing. I have checked the oil channels and theyre clear. Something has made the bearings grab, break the tabs then spin.

From the Ford book, standard con rod bearing clearance is 0.023mm to 0.043mm.
Maximum clearance 0.08mm.
Check with plastigauge or similar.
Cross your fingers.

I always use assembly lube on all bearing when reassembling an engine.

Well, as i suspected, the spun bearing has created wear on the crankshaft, so engine out time Again ๐Ÿ˜” and swap the complete block for the spare i have.
