Hi there I'm still having trouble with the probes immobiliser I really want to get it running again but I can't figure it out for the life of me
I've just changed the ignition barrel so I have a key
It starts for about 5 seconds then cuts out
Help me please get the old beast back running again I don't want to scrap it but k it will have to go at some point 🤔🤔

Could be a few things, firstly what year is your car?
If it starts than dies I'm guessing it's a late
Sounds like temic system stopping the car

if its a late car and your immobiliser doesn't recognise the chip in the key, your car will fire up then will stop, I had the same issue once

did you not have a key for the car :?: ,changing the ignition barrel wont help
if its a late temic, as you will need the complete system to run,Kit I believe has the
system from a late 24v ;) that we salvaged give him a pm ;)

After my experience of 2 years ago I'd suggest that before you rip the car apart you change the distributor for a working spare. Will take you less than an hour and will eliminate a very problem prone component that can exhibit symptoms just like yours.

sounds to me this car is not a temic system (95M) can you please confirm Early or Late ( or even tell us what is the number on your Dizzy)
