Alfie,
Does yours have a Bosch immobiliser, as I thought it was a later model, that has the chipped key?
You may find that it could be the CPS plug, that you just need to pull apart, give it a bit of a clean ( blown in it) and put it back together, or it could be the distributor

Hey Alfie are you getting a spark,,,,late 24v so you should have a chipped key for the moby which normally shouldn't give you any problems iirc ,,,,more than likely if your not getting a spark it will be the dizzy gone ,,,,,did you try disconnecting and re connecting the cps plug (grey plug top left hand side of the front rocker cover)!!!!!

As others have said could be the Crankcase sensor connection (its happens now and again on m late 24v`) even last week on my Gold 24v,
take the connection apart and clean it then put it back together
