I''m pretty sure but would like some confirmation please
Am I right in thinking the image above means that my alternator is on the blink? Thanks in advance ;)

Or your belt is broken :o :!:

To open the bonnet, pull the ‘T’ shape handle to the right & below the steering wheel ;)

Remember to use the stay to hold up the bonnet

Luckily I have something a bit more advanced than a bonnet stay but sadly the belt fine, the alternator does look a tad oily so assume that must be the issue...

Alternators hate oil in them, check the belt tension as the belt maybe to oily
also meter the battery before start up 12v,then after start up 14.5v
But suspect the Alternator is knackered ;)
Have a fully working one here £45 bring the car here Sunday and maybe
able to fit if you get the rad out for easy fitting

Before you do anything else, with the engine on tick-over squirt a LOT of WD 40 into the vents of the alternator.
Preferably using the little red extension tube, not as a spray.
You will not do anything worse than has happened already and may very well 'cure ' the problem.
The problem almost certainly being the brushes being stuck because of the oil .
