Hi all
Has anyone in the club ever fitted A/C from a donor car to a probe with no A/C and is it worth it or not.

I've never tried, but it's not as easy as you might think. The dash would have to come out as the heater assembly is completly different.

Hi Andy glad to hear from you hope you’re doing fine, I know the dash has to come out but was wondering would there be additional wiring to be done or is it in situ already, and on a difficulty level based on 1/10 .

I think there's more wires to go in. It's a different loom. There's a lot of plumbing too.
Degree of difficulty, it's up at least 8 or 9
Micron bought the AC from the one I stripped, I don't know if he's tried installing it yet. He's the man to ask.

Hi Tommy,
I have considered it, I believe that the wiring is there, the only one I haven’t found yet, but I haven’t looked for it is the one to the pump.
You also need the relay for the AC.
The controller is the same, just remove the little black sticker from the button, yes I didn’t know either.
The heater unit needs replacing, a rad in the front needs installing and the AC dryer canister, which are like rocking horse poo.
I stayed to do it, then realised I couldn’t do it in my garage as I couldn’t get the doors open to take out the dash.

Don’t forget you need the pump and a new longer belt.

Once it’s all in, then it needs to be seal tested before any gas is added.

I don't believe that it matters that it's from an earlier car, all the stuff I have is either from a later car or brand new, but it was for a MX6.

hopefully the dizzy issue is sorted.
