Battery fouling bonnet

Sorry for the constant flow of questions folks! 🙈 your support and responses are greatly appreciated though.

Ive noticed the passenger side bonnet sitting fairly proud of the headlight and wing. Upon inspection it appears the battery height is to blame. Its fitted with an 075 battery.

According to halfords.com that's correct. Yuasa list a YBX3111 but that's as tall, slightly deeper but not as wide so not confident that'll sort the issue.

Anyone else experienced this or know of a suitable battery number?

She finally fired today and I spent the weekend with the DA mop on its paintwork so its looking far better than when it arrived a few weeks back

I always use AM058L Battery, (correct size) without have to alter the battery tray, (from Tanya Batteries) :D :D :D
Halfords & Euro part sell the wrong size

Cool, I'll take a look at that now. Can the tray be altered? Mine was full of water and the fixing screws or bolts have rotted away!

Ah, you have found the problem I have the solution too.
18 years ago I sent the drawing for the plate you need to make to Paul Player of the old FPOC, somewhere I have a copy.
Essentially ,you remove the battery base plate and substitute 'my plate', it gives the 075 battery terminals plenty of space, not to touch the bonnet.

So I'll need to manufacture my own battery tray to get one to fit?

Agree I have the make and model mojo recommends and fits perfectly.

Yep, I have the same issue - bonnet a bit lifted behind the p/s headlight. I'll try the suggested battery. It annoys me to look at that sunken headlight!
