Slightly strange one...getting a fairly loud noise and whirring from ABS pump but only under certain conditions. The car is off, start it up, all normal until the car moves, even a tiny bit. You don't even need to engage the clutch, just rolling a touch will cause the pump to make the noise. You can feel the vibration through the bulkhead by your feet, lasts probably 3 seconds, sounds like a hissing and whirring. It makes the noise once, then you need to turn car off, and start it up to hear it again.
Abs operates absolutely fine, brake fluid level is good and not changed. Brakes feel the same.
I'm sure it didn't used to make the sound and just worried something will pack in. Any ideas?

Re: ABS pump noise
The description you said sounds exactly the same as mine has always been for the last 14 years, so i will say all ok
you will also hear that whirring abs sound when you slam the brake pedal down very hard ( in a emergency stop) thats the pump operating, stopping the wheels from locking up & skidding

Re: ABS pump noise
Oh, well that's good news!! Had the car 3 years now and sure I didn't used to hear that, but maybe I never noticed and now I have I can't unhear it!
Thanks for the reply. One less thing to worry about
