When i got the car it was missfiring, i replaced spark plugs,ht leads, injectors, and the distributor, im only young and didnt realise it would take the timing out to my luck my dad saved the day and told me about it (afterwards) so when i put it on right, the car ran nice but just too high in rpm, (around 2000) it has got a cone air filter on that i put on when i first got the car and im thinking it could be taking in to much air, help please any suggestions i have video of the sound if that will help anybody?

Update: i have been messing around with the distributor so that its idling better but its still too high, replaced the throttle body position sensor but that made no difference, i have an aftermarket cone air filter on could that been taking in too much air? Causing high idle?

First make sure the mechanical linkages are all working nicely and not sticking, anywhere.
Especially that tiny bearing that runs in the curved slot that is attached to the tps.
Along with other things , that adjustment screw will also affect idle speed.
llly that little
