Anything Worth Checking

Post by TrevorH83 » Sun Nov 05, 2023 2:11 pm

Hello!

So I’ve taken all the rear interior panels off to get to the CL relay.

Before I put it all back together is there anything else worth checking / doing?

When I do put it all back together I’m going to put some felt tape on the back of the panels to hopefully help get rid of a few squeaks!! Has anyone else done this & recommend a tape?

Oh and what is the purpose of the 2 metal brackets sticking into the spare wheel well? Are they just to secure the dodgy MDF cover??

Thank you!

Spare wheel well, yes is the answer

Check that the central locking is working,

I would remove the sound proofing and spray
with wax oil down inside the body work, as far as you can reach, 👍

Spare wheel brackets you should have2 clips on the spare wheel cover that locate into them
Dont use Felt as it fabric use and not waterproof use some soundproofing Dodo mat and as Malcolm says
use a lot of Waxoil to fill as far as possible

Thank you, yes that’s the reason it’s all off to get the central locking working, was hoping the relay would do the job!! No such luck!

Thank you ref the spare wheel.

I was pleasantly surprised how clean everything was behind it all.

With all the plastics off I’ll give them a good clean up too, will probably take the door cards off etc to and do all the interior.

Annoying one of the clips is broken… I’ll post in wanted for a spare… not sure if there will be any?! Like wise there is just one clip on the spare wheel cover!

Good tip ref the felt tape, it’s just the plastic on plastic squeaks I want to tame…. Or have to take as part of the charm!!
