Central Locking Relay Fitting

Post by TrevorH83 » Sat Nov 04, 2023 12:25 pm

Hello!

So I have decided to start my 1st winter job now… the central lockings not worked since I’ve had it, done the hopeful change the fuse and of course that’s not it!!

I’ve got a relay to fit (thanks Kit!!) and hope that does it… I know you need to start in the boot taking the trims off and work around to behind left rear quarter panel and wondered do you need to / is it better to take the rear seats out too?

Thank you!!

No, you don’t have to take the rear seat out.
But it you remove the bottom of the seat. It will give you a chance to clean underneath it. (& maybe find a few coins).
Take your time, work from the back. There’s a few hidden Push pins, one where the seat belt goes into the rear of the seat.

So I’ve got to the relay, wasn’t too bad of a job to get round thankfully!!

Plug in the replacement relay but still no joy, the is a click from the relay when the CL button is pressed so I guess the relay is ok..

So the question is, where next to look to see if I can get the central locking working?

Thank You!

That one also clicks when I press the button, it’s still on the unit as all did was unplug the lead and plug into the other relay.

Both switches tried too!

I’ll give it another look round tomorrow, check if it’s sounds… should it click on the key too or will it only click on the inside button?

When you turn the key when all doors shut you will hear them all lock try both sides
as may just be sticking locks/mechanisms
