Post by notoriousgoz » Sat Sep 16, 2023 3:56 pm

Hi all , just purchased a 1995 2.0 . It has cruise control switches on steering wheel and the module under the bonnet , but I can’t get it to work ( the car has been in storage for 15 years) … any suggestions
Thanks Alan

Don’t ask me how the system works, I’ve never use cruise control, I like to ‘drive’ the car :D

You have to be doing at least 30mph, then you switch it on with the LH switch ( no indications) then you set the speed with the RH switch ( still no indications) I would hold the set button for a bit, if it engages you might find it drops before it picks up again.
The RSM is resume after braking, cancel or whatever it says is just that.
If you brake it will disengage
If you change gear it will disengage
You can press cancel a little to reduce the speed

At no time will you see an indication on the dash or anywhere.

If it still doesn’t work, then you might find the module is faulty.
One question does the speedo work?

Thanks for that, yes the speedo works fine , car has only done 30k and it’s so original, so it’s just frustrating that cruise doesn’t work, as I believe it’s a rare feature on 2.0

I had to change mine, as I had the same problem, the tricky bit is the cable to the throttle body
It works fine now.
