Fuel filter

Ford Probe 1994 2.0
Hi
When replacing the fuel filter. To receive the fuel pressure is it better to remove the petrol pump relay and then start the engine or start the engine and then remove relay.Or does it not matter which way it's done.

When I have replaced the fuel filter in the past, I just do that, nothing else, no disconnecting anything else and it works fine?

Thanks for the help
Just to clarify is it possible as per micron to replace the filter without receiving the fuel pressure.

I believe that if you leave the car for a few hours before disconnecting the fuel lines, the pressure should have subsided. As I say, I have never disconnected anything else other the fuel lines. you may loose a little fuel as you disconnect the pipes, but as you start to release the clamps the pressure will also release, slowly
