Hey again guys. If I could pick your brains again please if you don't mind!

MOT is rearing its ugly head, and I have two electrical faults I've been looking at today. Major one is that the airbags don't work. Code is 5-2 which from the table in the oracle means "SRS control module, back-up power supply failure -- wiring, SRS control module". What exactly does this mean? Is the module itself faulty internally i.e. a capacitor or similar, or is it a wiring fault to the module? Any ideas would be a great help.

Second fault is that the horn doesn't work, I've traced it through and either there's a wiring fault between relay and switches or the switches in the steering wheel are faulty. Is it possible to even get hold of these?

Try changing the ‘clock spring in the steering wheel, & check the wire wiring under the dash, for the horn
(Got a clock spring here £25 post, if you need it)

Code 52 is the thermal fuse in the Blue box
Simple fix ( but I’ve never done it)

Just received the fuse, will repair it at the weekend. Thanks again all, would've been stumped without this forum!

I've replaced the thermal fuse, and its seems to have done the trick, code 52 is gone, now I have code 45. I gather it can only display one fault code at a time...wonder how many ill get!

Could anyone tell me where the centre front crash sensor is please?

Underneath the plastic strip by the bonnet catch the wires run up to the connector plug
orange/blue by the wiper motor

Thanks mate. Had a look, dug out the diagram off the forum. I've checked through the wiring thoroughly. From the connectors at the srs module I have the correct resistance all the way through to the crash sensor as well as a good connection to earth.

Is it possible it's an internal module fault?

when tested my crash sensors over the weekend i got omhs of 1180 as per manual
could well be a module fault did you continuity test the module when off

Yeh that's the reading I got as well. I guess I'll take the module apart and check whether I damaged anything when changing the thermal fuse.

What continuity checks can I do with it off?

I'm going to assume these are pretty hard to get hold of if it is knackered?
